About
Italia Bakery is a family business founded in early 1980s by my grandparents. It was named after my mother Ita. It first started out as a food establishment that sold a range of items from confectionary to fried chicken. However as the business blossomed, Italia decided to cut down on the variety of food and just focus on producing baked goods.
Concept
Located in a small town, familiarity is an important factor for a family business. A branding overhaul could be risky as regular customers would feel a certain loyalty towards the company’s old name and logo. The best approach would be to do a brand refresh to make the bakery more relevant to the present day. New visual language; typography, colour palette and graphics were introduced to give a contemporary look and feel.
